The origin of Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam

All the plays of the supreme goddess Parambika are pleasant to our ears when we read or listen to them. Many literatures and mythologies are proofs of the same. Devi Bagavatham and Devi Mahathmyam are full of praises for her.

Devi Bhagavatha praises her as Bhuvaneshwari and Devi Mahatmiyam sings her praises as Chandi. It is delightful to know, that from Dhathathreya's    Thripura Rahasyam to Shankara's   Soundaryalahari,  praises for goddess parashakthi's forms as supreme can be witnessed.

The crown of all the above is Lalitha    Sahasranama sthotram. Lalitha Sahasranamam (Hymn of 1000 names of      Lalitha) describes Srimatha's praises.

All the other Sahasra namas (Holy 1000 names of the god) are recited/sung by Devas and Maharishis. However, Lalitha Sahasranamam (The holy 1000 names of goddess Lalithambigai) was sung by Vasini , Vakdevathas, devatas who emerged out of the supreme goddess      Lalithambigai.

Lalitha shasranamam was emerged during the occassion which no one can dream of.

There are millions of   galaxies exist like the one we live and all the living and non-living   beings of those galaxies are protected by Brahma, Vishnu, Siva along with other devatas and gods.

Lalithambigai is the god of gods and the supreme goddess of all those galaxies known and   unknown.

Once mother of all "Lalithambigai" showed mercy towards everyone living in those millions of galaxies and blessed us with the ability to pray and perform pooja to get her blessings. This occasion was raised and witnessed by all the Brahma-Saraswathi, Vishnu-Lakshmi, and Rudhra-Gowri protecting those millions of galaxies.

The crown of all the sthotrams is Lalitha Sahasranama sthotram.

The supreme goddess Lalithambigai was happy that all the Devata, Sitha, Rishi are seeking her blessing and she has advised her vakdevatas lead by vasini to recite her holy 1000 names (Sasranama) and her devotees are blessed when they recite Lalitha Sahasranamam. Such is the kindness showed by the supreme goddess towards all of us.

Sri Lalitha sahasranamam is seen in Brahmanda puranam of Uthara gandam. Unlike other sahasranamam each and every name is a reflection of the Srividhya manthras.

It is a mandate that Sahasranama should be taught and recited along with moola manthra. However, Devi's sahasranamam is well spread among her devotees and this is also one of vows.

The first 100 names brief us the story of Lalithambigai which are in the form of manthras. Many secrets lie within this Rahasyanamam.

sreemath vaagbhava koodaika swaroopa muga pankajaa- kandaadha: kadi paryantha madhya kooda swaroopini- shakthi koodaikadhaapanna katyatho baagha dhaarini.

The above forms Ambigai

We recite Lalitha Sahasranamam. Who is Lalitha? How did she emerge? Where does she exist?

Lalithopakyaanam  answers all the questions above. Brahmanda puranam contains Lalitha Sahasranamam and the story of Lalithambai is explained in its last few chapters.
